My Goals for the Upcoming School Year

Hi everyone!

School is starting soon — in a little less than two weeks for me. It feels unreal that summer has gone by this fast! We are going back in person, which I am glad about. It will be nice to see friends every day and have a little more structure in my week.

I always like to start the academic year off with a few goals that I want to try to meet. I thought I’d share them with you guys here!

I find that especially during the school year, by the time I get home, do all my homework and chores, and eat dinner, I have no motivation to read. I usually end up sitting in the front of the TV and watching Seinfeld. I’d like to change that this school year. I love reading, and I want to devote much more time to it!

My grades are very important to me, so this is always one of my goals for the year. πŸ™‚ (Director’s Roll is High Honor’s, if your school calls it that instead.) It’s hard work, but I think it will pay off when I start applying to colleges!

Homework. Chores. Friends. Boys. Drama. Parties. Driving. High school is CRAZY BUSY all the time! It can be hard to make time for God, or to will yourself to do it! This year, I want to keep God at the center of it all. He is the Creator of the whole universe. He should be the most important thing in my life — He isn’t, because I’m a sinner, but I want to do my best. My goal is reading the Bible and praying every. single. day. No making excuses that I “don’t have enough time.” I do.

This seems like a pretty odd one. The last couple years of school I would wear makeup every single day without fail. This was because I was insecure without it. That definitely wasn’t a healthy mindset to be in. Over the past few months, I have gotten more comfortable with the face and skin that I have. I still love makeup, but I do it for fun now. This year I would like to wear less makeup to school, and get myself to the point where I feel comfortable with a bare face if I don’t feel like doing it that morning.

This isn’t to say I don’t take notes already — I am a note taker. The problem is, nobody can read my notes but me! πŸ˜‚ They have scribbles everywhere and are not neat. This year I would like to take pretty, neat notes that other people would be able to read as well.

I used to exercise every day — especially during quarantine when that was my only way to get out of the house — but I have fallen out of the habit. I’d like to get back into it, even if it’s just a quick 15 minute walk around my neighborhood. πŸ™‚

There we go! 6 of my goals for the upcoming school year! I hope you guys enjoyed.

Do you have any goals for this school year? When do you start back? Are you going in person or online? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’m homeschooled, so school is going to be basically the same for me, except I don’t know that we will be able to have our normally homeschoolers group. Your goals sound like really good goals! I really need to make some of my own goals…. I think it will help me to be motivated!
How did 5-day clubs go for you? Mine went pretty well!

  2. Good luck with all your goals and with going back to school! I hope it goes really well.❀️ I love your goals and a few of them are things I’m also working to this year- I hope to also continue to keep God at the center of everything and I’m also hoping that I don’t stop reading when the business of school hits.

You don’t have to answer, but what is the name of your blog’s setup theme? I’ve seen it all over and I’m so curious!
